Community Support Services provides comprehensive treatment for individuals diagnosed with mental illness and substance abuse disorders. The Substance Abusing Mentally Ill (SAMI) program, utilizes motivational interviewing and the integrated treatment concept as a framework for their service delivery approach.
Integrated treatment includes:
- Crisis Intervention
- Housing Assistance
- Case Management
- Substance Use Assessments
- Outreach
- Payeeship
- Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)
- Psychiatry
- Psycho-Educational Groups
CSS together with The Community Health Center, created an integrated system of care for the dually diagnosed population. This SAMI/PACT (Substance Abusing Mentally Ill Program for Assertive Community Treatment) program is funded by the Ohio Department of Mental Health (ODMH), the Ohio Department of Alcohol, Drug Addiction Services (ODADAS) and the County of Summit Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board. It serves those who are mentally ill and have a history of drug and/or alcohol abuse while providing intensive treatment to individuals who do not respond well to conventional methods.
