The Homeless Outreach Program helps those who are homeless and in need of mental health treatment.

CSS places nearly 100 individuals each year into treatment and ongoing services such as shelter and housing options. Most referrals to the Homeless Outreach Program come from area churches, social service agencies, law enforcement and healthcare providers.

Individuals accepted into the Homeless Outreach Program must:
  • Be homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • Have severe and persistent mental illness
  • Not be engaged in treatment
The Homeless Outreach center located at 640 Wolf Ledges in Akron, has a lobby with comfortable seating, showers, laundry facilities and a telephone for homeless individuals to use. The Outreach Program is funded by a federal formula grant- the Projects to Assist in Transition from Homelessness (PATH).

Donations to Homeless Outreach can be sent to the CSS Development Department at 150 Cross Street, Akron, Ohio 44311. The phone number for Homeless Outreach is 330-253-4663.
